I do paint and body for a living and run a shop on the side. People have no clue what good paint work costs. You would have to blend in the paint at minimum if not repaint the whole side and clear the rest of it. Materials alone are going to run 1k . there is also a bunch of hand painted stripes on there also. That price seems very reasonable to me. Jeff Wurl

I got my boat torn up pretty bad this summer by a fellow boater because his fender fell off (had it tied up like a dickwad and it came undone) and his rub rail chewed on my fiberglass pretty deep. He just looked at me, "Uh, sorry dude" and bought me a drink later. (A-hole, no offer to make it right)
Guess I get to fix that one too on my own dime. Not that it's anywhere near the detail of yours, it WAS spotless before that..... (Besides the big scratch I put in it at the dock)

Hey guys, Richyrich here. That repair , all the feed back, great stuff. Each little scratch required a little bit of P-77, resin putty , spot primer, general prep for a large blend, PPG makes a great blending/melting agent , used in combination with 2002 PPG clear and you don't have to clear the entire side. It would be delicately done though. And with the organic blues I used, I knew exactly how I did it last time, it was a sinch to recreate the colors, it did stretch out to almost 20 feet, that's no duck walk ! Lol it came out great and the boat is being picked up this Monday for All to see

$2900 for 20' scratch through fades is dirt cheap.
I had about 8 light 1/2"-1" scratches in 3 colors confined to a 5'x 8" section above my rubrail and the estimate was almost $1500.
