Yeah, to each their own opinion. Obviously the man making a living on them will have a strong one... and I get that. But for us swimming around them, kids doing cannon balls, ect... well, just look at an ASD boat and tell me how you would like your kids back there??

I agree I have an 11 year old and he has been jumping off the back sense he was 2. I would love to have ASD'S on my boat just not with kids

With people jumping off the swim platform? Especially young kids? They stick out at least 2' if not more past the end of the platform on most boats I've been on. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Agreed. ASDS stick out a lot further than a typical bravo setup. Not sure why Rick would be pushing his own agenda with incorrect information. Unless I'm way off base.

They stick out 22" past the aluminum platform on a friend's boat. So its valid concern for people who have kids, raft alot, or tie up in coves. Problem often times isn't you , or even boating friends. Its the others that are walking by the boat in the water, forget, or plain stupidity.

I remember a guy who had ASDs on his 388 Slingshot. He jumped or fell off the swim platform and tore up his back really bad. If memory serves me, he had to be life flighted to the hospital.

I had one...loved the ride....loved the boat but developed a 12' long hairline crack on the bottom....mystery.
A friend also had a 388 .....he too had a bottom issue that was much more serious then mine....he sold the boat immediately after repair.
When I was involved owning it...I heard another bottom story...

Not saying anything but check bottom for cracks and/or repairs......

Overall cool boats with LOTS of good reviews, congrats on the sale and upgrade!

Arneson drives, or ANY drive on an extension box, are further back in the water. Plus the Arneson use the SAME propeller as EVERY REAL OFFSHORE outdrive.

I would much rather raise my children properly, and maybe install prop covers, then have the BRAVO BLUES....

Don't forget about rafting with friends that have drives hanging far off the back, Plus ANY ANY ANY prop WILL hurt when bumped into or fallen on. There are MANY cases where people have been sliced open with standard bravo 4 blade props.....
