Too Old.................
Her beauty is almost scarey ;) In my opinion, which is and will remain completely irrelevant (sp?) but Apaches and Cigarettes both have a bousterous (again SP?) mystique. Yet since Cigarette hasn't stopped building and Apache has, then Apache has held the "mystique" better than Cigarette. I love both boats, but I voted Apache. Seeing either boat in the water is an overwhelming site. When you put both together the Apache looks tougher in a kind of taunting manner. I don't own either type, but instead a KV Scarab that was affordable to me was purchased because it resembled the Cigarette or Apache. Anyways. I have thuroughly enjoyed seeing these boats all my life and reading what has been said by all you qualified people. Thanks for all the entertainment!!! |
I think someone is playing with the Poll numbers
|
I see Apache is up now...and no, i have nothing to do with it.;)
|
Is it me, or were these numbers in the mid-hundreds only last evening? Hmmm!

When did apache ever stop making boats?, Never mind i give up. |
Must have been an awful lot of people on last night !
Those #s sure jumped up !!! |
I know that Apaches are popular on the board......but an increase of over 140 some odd votes in one nite.......a little hard to swallow......It doesnt take to much detective work here to figure this one out....or come up with a short list of suspects....
|
Too Old......Although it is very, very tempting I now have the true love of my life "The IceAngel" at my side. But the modeling deal we talked is still in effect I hope?
Spitfire1 mystery is the heart of all intrigue.....All of us here at Apache only voted once....it's just that the tribe is a very loyal following, you know that is about all the wisdom I can come up with this morning. Talk to you later |
Last time I looked, Cigarette had a few more votes, but as TooOld says...
"Why would someone go to the time and effort to manipulate a poll like this? What's to be gained?" This ruins a fun and curious topic. But, I thought the Board Gods fixed this? |
Amen!!
Who's going to the Poker run in 2 weeks in Miami? |
cigarette or apache.............they are both awsome machines.
|
We just got in some more clothing. Get it while it lasts. 305-493-4999. Bob or Eric
|
Fred,
All of the above. Hats, Tees & Polos |
scalptaker, we will be on the poker run with our '36 Apache "THUNDERSTRUCK". Looking forward to having a great run to the keys. Can't take the snow and cold much longer!!!!
I am sure you will be joining the poker run also. Tom |
Tommy,
Post some pics of Thunderstruck for all to see. I'll be in miami that weekend. Unfortunatley in a car. Good luck, Fred |
Tom,
When you come down bring some cool with you. It's been at or near 90 here for the last 5 days or so with lots of humidity. I'll take the cold. See you tomorrow. |
Originally posted by Too Old C'mon Eric, you'll get no simpathy from me when it comes to South Florida weather.:D ME NEITHER!!!;) |
You guys up north are so lucky! Beautiful snow filled scenery, fireplaces, ice-cycles, hot chocolate and everything. We're stuck down here with these stupid palm trees, bright sun, white sandy beaches and crystal-clear blue water and sitting a Shooters Waterfront Cafe, sweating!
|
CAFE MY ASS! I don`t remember drinking any coffee there! although I would have been better off doing so. Let`s see how beautiful that snow looks after you spend a couple of hours shoveling it!
|
What is it with heat? I've been out of NY for over 20 years, living in various hot & humid southern locations and have never gotten used to the heat. I'll take the snow any day. At least the snow is only for a few months. Our winter isn't very long (a day or two) and summer seems to last forever. There is always something to look forward to up North, winter - spring, spring - summer and so on. It's easy to dress for the cold but, last time a cop saw me here in my skivvies he said I was close to going to jail. I know, I know, if I don't like it leave. No one needs a DAMN YANKEE down here anyway; Right?
|
Eric,
I have been trying to convince my family to move to Florida, but they do not want to for the reasons you stated. They love the change of seasons. Wanna switch..... |

Originally posted by Fever Mike Eric Froberg, excuse my late arival here but I just read most of this thread and have really enjoyed it. You said in a post that today's boats would not make it in a true Miami to Bimini offshore race and would fall apart. I'm not flaming you but am just simply trying to learn something and respect your opinon and advice. With technology today and the advanced building materials most of these boat builders would have someone believe boats are stronger today than yesterday. Please give us some insight on why older Cigarette's and Apache's and the new boats you are going to build are stronger than todays Cigarette's or even Fountains since that's what I currently own. Thanks in advance, Mike Carter That is not an entirely accurate statement though. The new boats are just as strong, probably stronger that the ones of old. Some manufacturers may skimp on materials for lighter hulls. But, Cigarette, Apache, and Fountain would not fit that category. I have owned the oldies and now own a new one. My new boat is much tougher than the old Gun I had. That speaks volumes because my old Gun was a rock in long distance runs. The only thing I have seen come apart in any rough stuff was a stereo fell on the floor of a buddies boat. |

;)

 Bobby says Never Surrender.Anyone see Apaches ad in last months Powerboat magazine?Awesome!!!;)
|
How come it reminds me so much of an Active Thunder ad ?????????
|
Only because they both start with an A.;)
|
If you think the ad looks similar have you checked out Apaches website??? Must be the same guy that did AT's website that did Apaches. I would have thought they would have tried to be more original.
|
I guess they only surender on posting here in order not to dilute there talent!
