You guys can think what you want, but boats are a depreciating asset. Always been that way, and always will be. |
Hey jwws999, That is generally accurate, but I sold my 97T/G today for what I paid for it. Demand for clean premier performance boats like the 39T/G unlimited is strong and will stay that way because new product is limited and pricey. 600k is about what you need to get started with a nice 39 and a trailer. So 290k for a cherry 08-10 is not so bad. Perception is everything. When you go by at 90 mph, no one can tell if it a mint '09 or a new '17, but they know it is a 39 unlimited cause it says so right on the side! I don't want to sound like an elitist, but there is a world of difference between an O/L, Cigarette, Skater, Nor-tech, etc. and a Baja or Powerquest in the eyes of knowledgeable groupies! Just my opinion, don't mean to offend anyone.

New boats have always been priced high, and they'ver always been able to sell them. I remember looking at 27 foot formulas in the late 80s, and they were 60k, which was a lot of money back than.
You guys can think what you want, but boats are a depreciating asset. Always been that way, and always will be. so compare those boat prices to todays boat prices and then let me ask you ,has the % of your income gone up to match today's boat prices? I know mine has not,,good luck finding a new 22 foot boat these days for under 60-70k. I did not get into boating because I thought it was a good investment ,,but I certainty did not buy my boat so I can sell it for peanuts just because someone things that used boats are over priced,, this is what I told buyers in the past, I I know you do not need to buy my boat ,but I do not need to sell you my boat either,, anyways good luck on you search for that special boat,,I know you have been looking a while. |
To the OP, I don't know what you think this is worth but a NEW listing from a broker who usually gets a good rap on here......

Here is another link to that boat. It has several additional photos. I have bought two boats from Grand Sport Center. Always treated me fair.
