Oh yeah, whoever is looking for a good buy (relatively speaking in today's market,,that is), check out Concept. They have a lot of value and a really nice boat for the $$.

choppy stuff with some cross wind etc, the leaning post seating setup sucked. We weren't running more than mid 40's mph, but I sure missed the secure seating that the bolsters give. I have never been a big outboard guy, but I thought the CC would be cool. They look cool and can seat a bunch of people. But, I miss the sound of the big blocks in the background..... Concept has a small bean so they move a bit at speed in anything rough. Great boats but not really on the same level as Statement, Nor-Tech, Sunny, MTI, and etc. You can get bolters (2 rows actually) if you like on a sport CC along with a lot of other seating. |
I don't think it's frustrating at all, nor has anything changed. The boats that are priced fairly and are clean sell, and the boats that people have the "see what they can get" prices just sit. Lots of propaganda about a supply shortage, but theirs plenty of boats out their. The bottom line is that a 20 year old boat is just that, a 20 year old boat

Inventory is certainly lower in the classifieds. But yes, the good ones get snapped up quickly.

about a year ago there were 58 cigs for sale now 34............the 87 Top Gun in Tulsa looks like a great project to finish, pretty sure I saw that boat when I was in Broken arrow.

so many guys reply to for sale adds commenting how it will never sell its way overpriced ,,but yet a week or two later a guy post a picture of his new boat,,and its the boat that others said it will never sell..LOL bottom line is you get what you pay for,, the last 3-4 boats I sold I got top dollar for them and I did not advertise them,so dont kid yourself there are plenty of people out there willing to pay asking price for the right boat, and yes even a 20 year old boat. |

Lots of great comments on here. Another question: why the trend towards these center console boats? Am I correct at seeing that someone like Sunsation only makes center consoles now? Why would Sunsation stop building closed-bow boats all together?
I dont think Sunsation was taking seriously as a performace boat. they tried with the F4,,also the 36,but I dont think they did that well because the pricing was right there with other well known performance manufactures ,so they tried the center console thing and it seems like it was the right move for them, hey what ever works right? |
Kudos to Sunsation for recognizing the current trends and for accepting reality. I have no experience with the brand, and have never seen one in New England. Manufacturers with a devoted following like Cigarette, Donzi, Formula, Outer Limits, Nor-Tech, Fountain, Skater, and other iconic brands have generally proven themselves at one time or another on the race course. This adds a perception of quality and credibility (and certainly some cachet) to the product. Much less pressure for validation with a C/C,and wider appeal. Makes sense from a business perspective. Now if they start racing these "fish boats" it will be a whole different matter! I can see the classes now: Best neon light show, Loudest stereo, Best fish well, Most possible seating variations...:)

actually, there was one boat I spotted at the beginning of my search that I said was overpriced, and It's still sitting
