Matt,

Thanks for this! You did a great job of making it clear. I actually thought it was more like a drag race like the LOTO shootout. Learn something new everyday. yesterday I learned that Fountain guys are bitter. LOL :-) just teasing.

So it seems like the location would difficult to find and keep clear. a big enough space will most likely have some larger rollers or possible waves.

This is a great thing for the sport and I cant wait to see what happens.

Thanks again

Thanks for the kind words. You're welcome.

Honestly, having been up to 139 mph in a V-bottom that was stable at that speed and one that was a chine-walking nightmare at 120 mph, these speeds scare the crap out of me. More than success, I wish safety to all involved.

Yes, they were Race Crafter motors and they didn't last.

Apparently, what gear ratio was too tough of a question for him.

Posting crap? Its the truth, burned them both down from lack of water, at those speeds, the pickup was out of the water. The point being, both had massive power, one broke before the run, one broke during the run.

Ps- love your product Dustin, its the best around. But Reggie is the man. And to say your test runs exceeded the record, an then not going out to prove it but 10 years later, just shows how the proof is in the pudding and not what comes out of your mouth. My posts are not meant to be harsh, just all in good banter, just like friends at a bar rooting for the opposite teams! It's all good. And if all of us were drinking beer and not on these sites, in person it would be all in good fun.
Lets be very clear here, this has nothing to do with being bias. Reggie did incredible things and and respect what he did on many levels. I've said this a thousand times on here, I have nothing but respect for Reggie. I'm clearly commenting on the false info people post.

I'm extremely curious where in the world did you or anyone read that OL was going after Fountain, because clearly that would make zero sense, as Fountain is not in business, or at least, doesn't currently build boats. This is an attempt to break the long standing record. You guys continue to make this OL vs Fountain but there is no OL vs Fountain. Records are made to be broken, it gives us all goals to reach and exceed.

Keep the facts accurate and this post would be far more informative.

This year they had stock Mercury Racing 1100's, ran 89 octane, you can ask anyone at the race, damn, 89 octane while almost everyone else filled up with 110 octane! The year before, had a pair of 1100hp engines that were out of Brian's pleasure boat, after 3 seasons on them! For the love of god you guys have such bad info, its shocking.......

And just to be clear, you can never have ENOUGH HP when you race, you've got to be kidding me. Acceleration maybe?
