I'm not going to the actual run Saturday, done it before and it's just too much of a clusterfu#$ for me to relax and enjoy. I'll probably spend the day dock hopping to friends places.

My wife skipped going with us on Saturday last year and just drove a short distance from Land's End to the little pizza/beer place that used to be the Filling Station and watched it on TV and said she had a way better time and way better view.

We watched it from Red head yacht club pool bar last year and it was nice.

To be honest that was our plan for this year but 2 other friends are going and REALLY want to get on the water so we rented again which is just fine by me as well.

We have a house rented in the same cove as redhead so I'll probably head to Paradise for breakfast or somewhere with a good main channel view and watch everyone head to the shootout.

GOOD LUCK,,, this will be more difficult than running past TSA at the local airport .
Most owners of performance boats, are very cautious about assuming the liability of taking on any riders for events. Boat owners that fail to think about the liability exposure of taking on guests are being short sided
It may be more predictable, to rent, or just........ bring your own boat
Are you F'ing kidding me? Seriously? If that was the consensus of most boat owners, there wouldn't be any poker runs, charity events, a hop to an island with friends, fun runs and thousands of spectators in a "offshore" race. Most "Boat owners" would be running around single or with their wife's. There wouldn't be any pics and vids from an event boats full of "guests". If YOU think that way? it's your prerogative, I doubt most owners shares your views. Seems that most of the pics and vids from events all the people are "co-owners in the boat". WRONG.. However, next time I see some one asking for a seat in a poker run, or some one offering a ride, I will forward your comment. I been in countless PR's and gave ride to dozens of "guests", with out any liability concerns. SO where is this big OSO family concept? Besides, I'm not asking for the key to a boat, just a spot to watch the runs. But no worries.

Arrive early so you can get in the front line for the best view. The manufacture runs start at 11:00. You want to be there already tied up in line well before that. Be prepared for a complete CF trying to find a spot and getting tied to someone and getting tied up to. If you look like a rookie/rental no one will want to touch you so be prepared with fenders and lines ready to go on both sides with plenty of help that knows what they are doing on your boat. Once you are settled in enjoy the show. The stunt plane the last couple years has been insane.

Ahem to the fenders on the side. We had ours ready to go and were directed into a spot with some folks that where a lot of fun.

However we saw others that had nothing out, not ready, just looking and looking and not a single person was like "hey...over here".

Big Bouy's or big boobies will have the same effect in getting you a good spot to tie up.
