No worries, not a newbie here. The rental is a 21' Cobalt. Not sure of the color yet. lol. I'm sure I will be sporting some PR shirt and a Merc Racing hat. Hmmm. might make an OSO flag.. on the other hand, I have a HUGE OSO shirt that would work. WAAAAYYYYY too large for me. LMAO

GOOD LUCK,,, this will be more difficult than running past TSA at the local airport .

Most owners of performance boats, are very cautious about assuming the liability of taking on any riders for events. Boat owners that fail to think about the liability exposure of taking on guests are being short sided

It may be more predictable, to rent, or just........ bring your own boat
Because there are people out there looking for a payday I will not take a complete stranger or friend of a friend on our boat.

Raft up is 2 miles long. Pull in with bumpers and lines ready and jump right in line. It's only a cluster **** for people that are hesitant to tie up. I fire up early and run the lake as fast as I can to get there and get a good spot. Once you are there...stay the whole time. It's good fun. Biggest raft up you will ever experience.

Id invite but we are full and my friends as terrible company. Total losers LOL

a 21' boat is a little small for this lake. LOZ is our home lake. Most people don't understand the water here. Please be careful leaving the shoot out in that boat. Look on YouTube for videos. They don't do it justice. Some people we know came up from Tx and stuffed their 36' center console and sent people to the hospital. I have taken huge waves over the front. Of my boat. We took a wave all the way up the windshield on a 44' sea ray leaving there. I have seen many small boats sink at the shoot out. I can't explain how rough it is here and do it justice. Just be careful.

With that being said when you get in your power boat, it is sufficiently large, and you know how to handle it. Leaving the shoot out is some of the most exciting/fun water you will ever drive in. Expect major air time and to get wet.

Alternately, you could idle over to Captain Ron's after the races are done, grab a slip and some food, and check out the hardware. By the time you're ready to leave, the water will be calmed down.

We got a clapped out fun deck last time that was 21'.

We left near the end and yes, it was rough, and we got soaked for a bit. However the boat was so slow and had a rubber prob that caused so much slip we just idled and while you are tossed a bit. Stayed out the line of the boats and tried to stay visible and we were good. We ended up going to a cove area to sit, swim, and relax. Honestly should have done that sooner. Once we left there most everyone was gone.

Why is that? Performance boat owners take guests all the time.
