I am sure i have seen ya at eggmont. Just a couple yes ago we would have my Old sonic, a big yellow and orange MTI, the 41 Apache, a 38 donzi, and Ray Hamkys old school 35.
Now all thats left is Rays boat and the Apache but the apache owner got a twin diesel 54 sea ray and now the apache never leaves and we all went to CC boats.
I think we all love power boats and maybe if we had a lake and a short season a lot might still have them. In this area though the CC works the best and gets there juat as fast these days.
Taking a couple Statements today to american social on Harbor island, should be a good run.

In my area I know of 3 Cigs: a 42X, an older 38 TS TG that rarely leaves the lift and a old single step TG that literally idles to happy hour, stays for one drink and idles away. There is a 38 Powerquest that has to have 5,000 hours on it as the guy runs it every weekend.
Just 10 years ago there were several TS TG's, a 47 GTX, an Apache 41, 3 Sunsation 32s, Skater 36, 2 38 PP's, a few Fastechs, 47 Fountain, couple Donzis.
The best thing CC's offer is SHADE.....as I get older, more time baking in the sun is not what I enjoy.

Miami to Key West poker run in November still had some pretty serious I/O's on hand. Videos showed them roaring by the outboard powered C/C's. At the docks in KW, the serious rigs were detailed and covered, while C/C's ruled with the shade tops, coolers and tables, 18 cup holders, neon lights, big sound systems and multiple hotties bouncing around on board. If you need or want to maximum numbers in a traditional rig, big torque and horsepower from large inboards is paramount. If 70 mph with more flexibility and socializing in your approach to boating is sufficient, C/C's are the answer. Nothing wrong with that, just a different focus!

Why not have both?!? I'm keeping an eye out for a 30ft Scarab or similar after my boat broke and my awesome friend let me borrow his for a Fun Run. Both style boats have pluses and minuses. Ease of maintenance going to the CC obviously. It gets really expensive to maintain custom power old resin buckets. It's not for everyone.

As a side note I personally dont want my boat to be the the centre of the big party. You come out the next morning and the seat has a new rip in it, that's scratched, this is missing, that's broken...no thanks. But if you want to be that person it's all good.
