Looks great as always Gary.

Nice work Gary,
I thought I would show you a few pictures of a boat my buddy down here did. Said he made it for the river ranch runs etc. I don't want to steal your thread but thought you would like it. Started life as a 21 Hustler. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...80c7cd4e7.jpeg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...d29d86a321.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...6e897e45b8.jpg |
Thx for all the compliments guys.
I learn from every build. Told a friend today that a cocaine habit would probably be cheaper, less painful and for sure an easier habit to kick. Wildman, love your buddies boat. Awesome sand bar boat. Only thing missing is it needs a swim platform/motor bracket. W/that, that’s where everyone will hang. My Sonic I did in Fla, I put speaker jacks on the transom, installed suction cups on the bottom of a pair of speakers (I have a picture somewhere), then plug them in and stick them on top of the motors, facing the sand bar. Got tired of going back to the boat for a ......bottle of water, and getting your ear drums blown out cuz the stereos cranked so you could hear it on the beach. Before your buddy uses that idea, I did patten it 😎 |

I had a buddy w/a 300X w/the same mid as your buddies.
Had it shortened and kept cracking at the weld.

Probably a Taylor mid.
W/o the upper cover, you can tell it has the same casting design as my buddies X. Had a shorty Taylor mid on my last, serious OB project.

I don't think this one is shortened, pretty sure it was made that way. I'll see him this weekend and find out who made it.

So I can’t work on the first mates deck cuz I’m out of lumber and I can’t work on her pool cuz it’s rained three days.
That means......., I work on my boat! BTW, sold hers. Been playing w/graphics on the motors too. Not satisfied yet. I have the e-bay hydraulic steering installed, plumbed and working to my satisfaction. On today’s rain day I built a mold for the pad I’ll add to the bottom. Starting to be fun and look like something. Still can’t post pixs??? |
Congrats selling wifey's boat, I saw it on that other website, the buyer got a beautiful boat.
No timber, rain and no boat to play with, sounds like the first mate is pushing you to finish up your boat so you can get back in the water. :) RR |
