I think you've done some good recon and received some solid feedback.

Best of luck w/ your pursuit of building a new Nor-Tech!

I’m going for a ride tomarrow.. Today 280 gallons fuel 9 adults we ran 77 mph and the boat was on rails!

I've yet to hear anyone claim a quad 39 capable of 90mph. My guess is more like 85mph.

I would say the length, weight & CG of the 39 overcome the lift.
1050 h.p. behind a 34' boat trimmed up so that's allot of leverage coupled w/ the air trapped under the top in front of the windshield.
IMO 1200 h.p. or 150 h.p. more behind a 39' boat that weighs more doesn't have the ability to get the same lift.
I also don't believe the large top affects or contributes to the lift, it's the air that is stacked up under the top at the windscreen that causes the lift. The shape is the same regardless of whether you opt for standard or large top.

The large top is beneficial if you opt for 2nd row seating on a 39. Better wind / weather protection for more passengers.
We had 4 on board returning from the Bahamas in 4-5 footers w/ rain and whoever sat on the cooler behind the helm got drenched w/ the rain that rolls off the backside of the standard top.

I have personally ran the 1st blue quad 400 390 at 91. No jack plates. My friends triple 400r 34 is 86 on the gps history. My 2015 triple 300 34 is 76 on the gps history, that has been done once when the boat was fairly new. With 350hrs it will run 73 every day and it has never let me down. Still solid as a new boat.https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...011cdef58.jpeg

Six pages of analytical discussion and just one picture in the entire thread. You CC guys are a different breed. We stubborn I/O boaters need bright and shiny images every so often to keep our attention.

Ooooh, I like shiny things! :)

I’m heading down Friday to see progress on my build, and pick up my trailer. Is the new seat for the 340 on any of the in-progress boats?
id like to see it, wasn’t mentioned when I was at the factory choosing options in December

Thanks for the post! T-top looks smaller also with box delete (better performance/visibility?). Looks like the also tweaked the tubing towards the side of the console instead of in front of the windshield. Any pics of the rear seat?

You may have to posted X amount of times before they let you add images.
They don't like newbies coming on w/ their 1 and done posts or stirring the pot so they want members to be a bit more invested before they receive all access.

I asked about the top w/o the overhead compartment on the boat pictured and as suspected it is the small top off the 344 GT.
I thought the new seat was standard but I'm told it's like a $9000 option available on 340's or 390's.

I've left the rod holders behind the rear bench just in case, for a grill or flag holder.
I also went w/ combo cup / rod holders in my gunnels just to add some versatility.

NASCAT 05-17-2018 03:41 PM

Ah the pics, alas!

Very nice, who was the dealer?
How do you like the Ameri-Trail?
