Very nice. You will love it.

Mentalpause 05-17-2018 04:59 PM

Which Formulas did you have?

GatorMD 05-17-2018 05:08 PM

Looks awesome!! Very clean and sporty! That bench does look very comfy and fun. No dive door? Do any of the back seats fold forward for boarding?
Also, are those 7612’s?

Mando 05-17-2018 05:47 PM

340

cant get dive door on 340. Seats do not fold forward. And yes they are 7612. I did not want the 7616. I thought too big took away from the carbon dash

Mando 05-17-2018 05:49 PM

sll cruisers. 29pc. And they 34.

SLOWRIDE-388 05-17-2018 08:59 PM

Cool boat. New back seat looks way better.

I had a 350SS. The 340 will be so much more fun to drive. :D

Great looking boat Mando! I really like the white hull, I agonized over the color decision, but seeing yours confirms it for me. Hope you enjoy it.

Mando 05-18-2018 06:12 AM

Nascat

Yes larger than the cobia cc. Nice size for quick over nighters. Don’t think I would go away for a week and sleep lol. Wife and and I would go crazy

Thanks the white hull is great. Last 2 cobia s I had were black hulls. Lots of work but nice looking. Wanted white and I agree it is very clean and nice looking. I had the boat striped and had nor tech name put on.

One thing you'll find is that if you sleep feet first towards the bow that the rake of the boat as it sits in the water will have the blood rushing to your head. This is why the fishing versions reconfigure the cabin berth layout. A thick / memory foam pillow helps.

The berth isn't really deep enough to sleep the other direction, thus my adding a fold down extension.https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...48c3937028.jpg

akso added the extension. Little larger supported by the sides of berth lifts out then slide it way forward. Got the idea from you!!’ Thanks.

The drop in / removable style is similar to what the fishing cabins use also but their drop ins basically cover the entire floor space of the cabin. No way to stand up just one large pad.
They also told me they don't like their heads near the "HEAD" so it's relocated forward & center like you'd find in a Cig performance vee hull

Mando 05-18-2018 07:26 AM

i hear you. Seems to me there is plenty of room. Both nice set ups. Allows to stretch out to sleep. Without the extension I could never sleep in that berth

NASCAT 05-18-2018 07:34 AM

I requested the shorter lounger in favor of the bow u-shape bench seating on my 2015 NT 340 which is now standard.
If one elects to eliminate the bow seating and retain the longer lounger the berth underneath remains full length and no berth ext or drop in required.

Makes sense but I like the seats up front.

Agreed, this was the very first 340 to have the bench seating. When I saw this I asked why can't we just shorten the lounger and 45* the corners

Mando 05-18-2018 08:09 AM

Nice job. Well done. !!!!!

GatorMD 05-18-2018 08:20 AM

I think the U shaped bow seating really completed the 34, well done on getting Nortech to do that nascat!!

What is the “functional” sleeping length on the 34 w/w/o extension vs 39??

If you had any idea how much they despised my custom requests several of which have become std or at least options.
The lumbar support in the lounger seat bottom was another that really upset them. Today I believe it's an option. They've taken it to the next level based on what I saw in Miami.

Good question and one I don't the answer to as I never measured and compared nor have I owned a 39'. What I will tell you is that the helm / cabin module is the same for both boats BUT b/c the 39 is longer where it's located on the deck / hull is a noticeable difference inside. If you look in your cabin forward to where the berth is barely 12" tall that is actually the underside of your deck floor forward of the lounger box. On a 390 it doesn't look like that b/c the lounger is full length since the boat is 5' longer and no need to trim back in order to fit the bow seating. In fact bow seating on a 39 receives longer benches. This gives you the 24" (est) cabin head room towards the bow and you probably can sleep head towards the bow & feet towards the toilet. You'll also notice that a 39 doesn't have the stepped or notched out cabin side walls beside the berth cushion. That's because the cabin is further rearward on the deck / hull and the hull is wider.https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...87c1e38732.jpg

more room to party?

also I’ve spoken with my dealer and am really trying to get them to recess the bow table into the deck. I think it’s rediculous the cost of a nortech, and they won’t accomodate this!!

Gator you have to follow the progression of the boats. I'm not saying I was the first to have the bow seating filler but both my 340's had them. One was on typical removable aluminum pole you'd find in any cruiser, the other rested on the spring loaded fold out arms (no table height option) They used 3/4 solid Starboard and it was a back breaker to take in and out of the boat. FF to the last year and they went to an electric telescoping mechanism. It's all progress and ingenuity BUT they can't retool the 1 set of molds they own w/ a 1 yr backlog every time they or one of their customers want something custom. There have been many features I've seen on other CC's I wish Nor-Tech offered but they are a Semi-Custom builder and do offer a good amount of personalization as it is.

Imagine if you had a deposit on a build slot like I do & the customer in front of you was GatorMD wanting all these trick custom features. Your build would be pushed back mos waiting on them to engineer the changes, meanwhile you'd been more than happy to build their standard boat no options.

Believe me, I hear you loud and clear but it's just not feasible. Remember all I wanted was a little foam in my lounger cushion, you want a recess glassed into the deck liner.

Haha. +1. What seems simple is not so simple. Exactly why I went to W&W for custom aft facing seat to replace the cooler seat. But kudos to NT, they sure try hard and take a lot of customer feedback into improvements. But changing molds takes time.

River Dave Johnson just visited the NT factory yesterday and snapped a bunch of pics of boats and progress. Cool little photo tour. Some cool stuff getting built up including the 55' CC! Looks like NT is absolutely SLAMMED!!!! Pics start on page 3.

Touché! I do see they respond rather well to feedback and incorporate many new ideas. Seeing the nortech factory and all the boats/projects they have going on really drives home how busy they are and still deliver a beautiful semi-custom product.

Cant wait to get mine going. Now with the new Mercs out and the anticipation for a 450/500 I may be more comfortable getting a hull soon since it’ll take about 8-10+ months before rigging?!

Kent island

Yes the boat is there now!!! Waiting for it to stop raining!! Goes in Monday morning!!!!!!! Almost 8 months from ordering!!!!!! I keep it off west river behind rhode river marina. On a lift.

JaxBoiler 05-18-2018 08:45 PM

NASCAT, they crew at the factory showed me the spring loaded arms on my last visit, we discussed powder coating them to blend into the gel coat. I don’t want the hydraulic lifting table, I don’t like that it sits above the floor when it’s down.

Question: Could you store the filler starboard/cushion in the cabin when you weren’t using it? I’m hoping to be able to bring it along out of the way on long trips.

They mentioned the option to drop the hydraulic table flush with the floor is being designed, but not an option yet.
