Sounds good. Konrad drives are killer. Survey it and know for sure if she is wet. If dry, buy her and let her eat. Good luck.

Agree with the above^*^^^^. That is a good price. I would buy it, take it directly to waves and wheels and get the interior done, and have a real nice boat under 50k

dsmawd350 11-19-2018 07:25 PM

It's been for sale on and off . It had a purple wrap on it that matched the interior .

Don't know anything about it, but Ed Champion at Big Thunder has it listed. He'll give you the straight scoop on it.

Nice looking cig for the money! If everything checks out. Keep us updated!!!

BBYSTWY 11-20-2018 05:15 AM

Will do...hopefully all the stars align and I can scoop it up...surprisingly my biggest fear being insurance was a pleasant surprise...checked with progressive yesterday who has my Nordic and its only 300 a year more than my heat..total was just over 1000 for the year

thanks for the input!!

BBYSTWY 11-20-2018 05:28 AM

Anybody think the top speed is a little slow?? 70...I know these are heavy pigs but I figured alleged 650 a side it would be mid 70's at least?? doesn't really matter just curious

Current owner purchased it around June this year and he boats at LOTO, it was at the Cigarette Rendezvous this year. Looked pretty clean for the year and sounded good, I think it has dry pipes.

open87 11-20-2018 06:12 AM

Good looking boat for the $.

Whats that a thousand dollars a foot... not 10 thousand ..

BBYSTWY 11-20-2018 06:15 AM

Yea that's a huge draw for me...the price....I figure if I can find a good base in my price range I can make it my own over time

I'm good with the dry pipes...I have semi dry on my Nordic and although some think they are obnoxious...I love em hahaha

BBYSTWY 11-20-2018 06:19 AM

Also jim...did he have issues with the drives/trans this summer?? the add says low hours on both just curious if he did the swap because of issues or if he bought it that way??

F-2 Speedy 11-20-2018 06:50 AM

I don't remember seeing the boat @ the cig event, but there were a lot of boats, might think about adding external hydro steering. good luck Eddie's a stand up guy

BBYSTWY 11-20-2018 06:57 AM

yea that would be one of the first things I did for sure

I noticed this doesn't have a notched transom which could be the cause of what seems like a little slow speed for the power...can a notch be added to these hulls and would it be worth it in the long run??

F-2 Speedy 11-20-2018 07:01 AM

pretty sure the notch came in 88........I don't think the payoff would be worth the investment to ad the notch

BBYSTWY 11-20-2018 07:10 AM

fair enough...I've just seen claims of 4-5 MPH out of the notch...I can do the work if I had some measurements to go off of...not a big deal was just curious more than anything...waiting for the bank and them to open to see if I can put this deal together :santa:

My buddy thinks I'm an idiot for trying to get rid of my 80+ MPH heat to go into a 70 MPH cig...I would like to boat in something more than 2's and not get the sh!t beat out of me lol

anyone else have any opinions on that matter?? just for open discussion??

I think your spot on. The notch will positively increase the speed but also negatively increase the porpoise... The ride quality between the two will be different also. The no notch will run more like a mistress from conversations I have had. FF has riden in our ould 93' with a notch and his with out it. I know he will agree. Check out one of his videos posted. it can be seen how much more the hull is in the water = less speed. I wouldnt let that scare you. If your on big water, that ride can easily outweigh the speed. However, if your on a flat river, I would think differently.... Just my 2cents..

Should be a little quicker, never know if setup is correct, As stated that is a pre notched boat. May have wrong props, since Konrads were added. The Konrads should have helped since they are 1.7" shorter then the TRS's that probably came on the boat. The notch from what I have seen is good for 3-5 MPH. Props could be good for 3-5 also, getting those 650's in the correct RPM Band. Lot of factors. Test Drive the boat, Leakdown and Survey will tell alot. It will need a survey to get insurance anyway, so might as well do it before you buy. Then you will have a negotiation point. Would be a sweet deal at 35K

BBYSTWY 11-20-2018 07:33 AM

Right on..all good points...the no notch doesn't scare me at all was just curious if its worth it to add it...if it sacrifices some ride quality then I'm pretty much against it...that's the whole purpose of this purchase is for a better ride...I boat pretty much exclusively in lake Michigan where it can go from flat to 4's in a matter of an hour...looking to do more long trips this summer on the water and don't want to get stuck in Chicago because my little 28 heat can't handle the water to get home...plus the bigger cabin is obviously a plus...if I could be consistent 75 with a 55-60 cruise I'd be happy...I believe that should be possible with the power and drives that are in this boat...some TLC and updating of the graphics and interior and I think i'd have a solid package that should handle anything I can throw at it and last me quite a while....that's my thoughts anyway haha

BBYSTWY 11-20-2018 07:41 AM

Very cool video!! So you're saying with no notch that porpoise would be a lot less evident??

My god I'm jealous lol...if I tried running in water like that I would get absolutely pounded and there would be a lot of broken sh!t in my boat hahaha

Smoke eater 11-20-2018 07:51 AM

Not trying to push you to another company but have you considered looking into State Farm. I pay 400 a year for my go fast formula they e been great. Never gave me a hassle when I had to make a claim. I know everyone has a reason why they choose the insurance they do. But just a heads up. I use to use progressive then looked into State Farm and just on the boat I saved 1000 a year!!! More money for fuel!!!

BBYSTWY 11-20-2018 08:03 AM

Its funny you say that...I have state farm for everything...house, trucks, cars, everything...so naturally when I got a boat they were my first call...not sure if its a Michigan thing or what but my agent told me they won't insure performance boats...I was shocked...and after that I shopped around and the only one that would write me was progressive...I've been around boats my whole life..working on them, driving them, towing them, the whole bit...but since I've never had a boat with insurance I was extremely high risk in everyones eyes and only progressive would write it so being they have my current policy I called them...I just wanted to get a baseline since I've heard outrageous numbers on here for insurance prices I wanted to make that my first call hahaha

Smoke eater 11-20-2018 08:56 AM

Wow yea that’s crazy. I’ve always shopped around. My parents have had State Farm for close to 25years with their boat. They are Illinois. I used progressive for everything before switching to State Farm because they were the best rate for my motorcycle at the time. Then everything went to State Farm. It must be a state thing or they some how have mine catogorized as another boat. Yea when they quoted me the price I couldn’t believe how much heaped they were. I thought it was to good to be true. But I’ve renewed every year and they haven’t changed anything.

Smoke eater 11-20-2018 09:04 AM

Btw I am jealous if you end up with it. Seems like a great deal. Hope to see you and the boat in the lake come summer time.

do yourself a favor and do not put this boat with progressive. i am an independent agent in Michigan who carries them but would not write a powerboat with them ever again. had multiple issues with a few of my clients and will never write another one with them again.

shoot me a Pm if you wish and i'd be happy to try and set you up with someone better. im almost positive i can find you someone better than progressive for less $$ with better coverage as well.

im new to Lake Michigan the wife and I want to do some boating this summer. The bird I own I bought last summer and only used it a handful of times. We had a baby the beginning of this year. Didn’t plan to be on the boat this summer but would’ve loved to get out on the lake. But because of a shop that doesn’t know how to winterize properly it cost me a motor and a season with out my boat. Just got it back last weekend. I grew up in Illinois so we used the river all the time. Just been from Winthrop harbor down to Chicago a few times last year. It’s a fun cruise for my 27footer but would love to go bigger. Wish the money was in the bank for something like your looking at. One day it will happen. Anyways don’t know where I was going with this rant. Oh meeting up it be fun do donsomething. Don’t know much to do out and about on the lake. Would like to try to make it to Milwaukee this next season or road trip it to torch lake out in your area. Never been but hear it’s beautiful. Idk if it’s a like for our style of boats tho.

BBYSTWY 11-20-2018 11:23 AM

Torch lake is for sure on my bucket list this summer with either boat...huge sandbar and from what I've seen quite a few go fast boats....hardy dam hotboat weekend is another must hit...didn't make it this year but went last year and it was a blast...that's over by grand rapids area....cruising the river through downtown Chicago is a huge bucket list item for me as well....I think it would be so cool to cruise the river and park for the night and hangout downtown...I could do it in my heat but I would have to be really really weather conscious....

if you're looking to do any poker runs/fun runs check out WMO...west Michigan offshore...haven't been able to make an event yet but have heard great things about that group and I became a member earlier this spring

Smoke eater 11-20-2018 11:29 AM

P.S. If something doesnt workout with this boat let me know..... I might have to sweet talk the wife into something like this haha. You financing on your own or you working with the seller?

Smoke eater 11-20-2018 11:31 AM

the river downtown ive done in the past when I was a kid in my parents boat.... Definitley way cool... Would be cool to spend the night and hit the downtown life...

BTW totally not trying to steal the deal out from under you... Just wish to live out a dream that will not happen for a long time

BBYSTWY 11-20-2018 11:42 AM

hahaha no problem...I'm financing through my credit union...that doesn't seem to be an issue...waiting to hear about trading mine in to big thunder

I think he bought it with fresh power, I only talked to him that weekend of the Rendezvous.

BBYSTWY 11-20-2018 01:46 PM

According to ed at big thunder...this guy buys cheap rebuilds uses it for the summer then dumps it....kinda a hobby I guess....he thinks the motors came with it but were out of it so he "freshened" them, and it blew a trans so he rebuilt or put new trans' in and the konrads were rebuilt prior to him getting it....so everything has 10 hours or less basically

Just got preapproval at the bank so just waiting to see if they'll take my Nordic on trade...he said they don't usually take in boats that old but being pretty much everything on my Nordic is new or close to it he said they will evaluate it and let me know....fingers crossed!!

Smoke eater 11-20-2018 01:57 PM

Wow good luck I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you

BBYSTWY 11-20-2018 02:21 PM

Hope it works out!! Thanks!!

BBYSTWY 11-20-2018 04:10 PM

Doesn't look like we are going to come to terms on my trade in unfortunately...I understand they have to make money but considering I just dumped 10k into my Nordic which I knew I would take a hit on that part but an additional 10k hit on top of what I owe I don't think I'm willing to accept....sucks :(

Smoke eater 11-20-2018 04:17 PM

If you dont mind me asking what were you looking to get for your boat. what year and what did they offer

BBYSTWY 11-20-2018 04:27 PM
