I let them go through their entire pitch and when they want a response from me I just say Im sorry I wasnt paying attention could you repeat that. I continue to do this until they hang up. I have had some people repeat the entire pitch 5 times. The worst thing you can do to a telemarketer is waste their time. I waste as much as they let me.

I don't want to waste my time either. Between the "TeleZapper" ($39.72 at WalMart - you can even get a cordless phone with CallerID and Telezapper built in for $60!!), Caller ID machine, and an answering machine, they never get to me.

I like every ones response to this.
I usually just hang up.
As for the air horn in the mouthpiece, we keep a gym whistle by the phone for prank calls. Never thought to use it against telemarketers.

I used a variation of #12.
I worked 12m to 8am for 7 years. If I got called (and woke up) at 10 am , I would ask where they were calling from and what time it was , also what time they started work. Lets say they have been working for two hours. I would then explain how I work midnights and would be more than happy to call them 2 hours after I start work at midnight and could talk then.....I have always got hung up on .
Or... If they start off by introducing themselves ,ask if the have a quarter. When the say "yes" tell them to call someone who gives a f*(k

dont ask them to talk louder, just keep moving your face away from the phone. they will turn up their volume, hold their ear closer so they can hear you. when you say no and bye, yell it with your mouth over the reciever.
