A lot more people are killed and or seriously injured by Sober people than people consuming alcohol. In a number of countries around the world drinking and driving is accepted behavior, within limits of course, yet they do not have an abnormal increase in accident rates. But actually harming someone is a crime. You go to jail drunk or sober until ability to provide restitution is proven for those that you injured and or killed.

It is not alcohol that causes accidents by it self, it is people making mistakes and or being negligent in the safe operation of a motor vehicle, works both ways intoxicated or sober.

Does not matter if you are drunk or sober, harm or kill someone. You Should Go To Jail.

In the US there is some absurd reasoning that drinking and driving and you harm or kill someone that is bad behavior. But if you are Sober it is completely acceptable behavior with no jail time at all, not even an arrest-able offense. The worst you might get is a citation, a summons to appear for some little driving infraction.

I stopped riding motorcycles in the US, after being hit a few times by sober drivers, and watching my friends get killed by Sober drivers. I am not aware of anyone that has ever gone to jail for killing people, if they were not drinking alcohol. Yet the people the sober people kill are just as dead. Not one of the people that killed my friends went to jail, nor were they arrested.

Please explain to me in detail. There are manslaughter laws, but outside of the intoxicated, terrorist or hate crime, no ones seems to be held responsible for killing people with a motor vehicle, even when they kill a whole family. Parents are sent to jail/prison for dropping their young child accidentally killing them. Why is it bad to kill people driving a motor vehicle while having consumed alcohol. But perfectly OK, totally acceptable and perfectly legal to kill people driving a motor vehicle while sober.

I had to pick up the pieces of 6 kids that were hit by a drunk driver when I was about 21 years old. We were one of the first people on the scene after it happened, LONG before the emergency people. Only to find out later that night one was a daughter of a close friend. Please do a ride along with your local emergency personnel on a couple of accidents where drinking was involved and let me know what you think then.

My serious stance on drinking and driving is simple, If you drink get a designated driver. It is not you I care about at all, I really don't care!!!! But if you hit a person or family that has not been drinking it is your fault, period, it is completely preventable!

Driving to excess in the US has consequences regardless if you are sober or otherwise, yes the penalties are worse for DWI, as they should be, but you will get hammered both criminally but in the US there is also the civil side which in most cases is life altering!

PLEASE stay in Mexico, you appear to be the reason we have border/immigration standards!

Wondered that myself, if that was a kid in back. But did not want to go there. Besides if it is a kid and that were me as a kid, I would be grinning from ear to ear and laughing my ass off.
