I just got a phone call this morning from my sister downstate. Go figure... Yes it was the call saying so sorry she just tested positive for the junk. Yup, Xmas morning she had the sniffles and she didn’t think much of it. Next few days had more cold like symptoms which ultimately lead to not being able to smell or taste as of last night. She went and got tested this morning. The 20 minute test came back positive however she also got the more extensive test that takes 5 to 7 days. Our family hesitated briefly as to whether we should get together this year however we did. I have no regrets but the rest of us are laying low until further test results. She works part time at dentist office and has taken precaution since this all stated and nearly quite her job as she has a weakened immune system.

Strange thing is that her weakened immune system was the result of a stroke which coincidentally happened 3 days after she got her flu shot a few years ago.

Yes I will take it as soon as I am able. Not because I worry about myself contracting or being adversely affected by the virus but because I don’t want to unwittingly transmit a death sentence to anyone that has a vulnerability. I also want life to return to normal and I hope that this will make that possible sooner. If I grow a third eye I will let y’all know. Peace to everyone in the new year, Roscoe

You getting the vaccine won't address any of your concerns. You can still contract it and transmit it, you just won't get sick. In fact, you may actually be more likely to transmit it as you think you are safe when you are not.

Not trying to down play your situation in any way but I wouldn't worry about it as far as contracting it from her. I cant even count how many people have gotten it and had been in super close proximity to family and friends and no one in their circle got it. Unless you have symptoms I wouldn't give 2 ****s about it. Im sorry for your sister but my Dr friend says do not lay down and walk or jog every 2 to 3 hours. Fresh air and vitamins are the key. Eat as healthy as you can. Keep us posted on her progress and hopefully not regress. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

Thank you.
no matter how many times this gets clarified, you can tell by context people aren't getting it and therefore are making all sort of decisions on false pretense

Tks and I feel the same. I’m in the resort business in northern MI and been around and in direct contact with hundreds of people a day seven days a week from May through September. What are the odds of not coming in contact with more than a handful that had and didn’t know it or tested positive shortly there after after. I know there was three for certain. One was 78 yrs old and the other two where in their 50’s. They all came through it fine but where fairly healthy individuals.

Slight update. My nephew, his wife and daughter just tested positive. That’s 4 out of 14 from our immediate family gathering to date anyway. I hated to even post but....

Ones gotta wonder if you get tested after saying you were exposed or just cold like symptoms the test mysteriously shows up positive now?
