Well, if Trump had not mismanaged COVID and brought the US to a deep recession, oil prices would certainly have been higher since demand would have been a lot higher. The US economy uses a lot of hydrocarbons. So in that respect, he certainly influenced oil prices.

US oil and gas production increased because of huge advances in fracking technology. Trump did not have anything to do with those. US oil and gas production was increasing well before Trump took office as you can see from this chart:

If you go back and read the news from November - and I mean the kind of news that people whose homes don't have wheels read, not what some guy posted on Facebook - you will learn that crude prices started increasing in November for three main reasons:
1. US production was lower than expected (I.e. expectations that supply would be lower)
2. There were positive news about COVID vaccines (I.e. expectations that demand would be higher as life returns to normal)
3. The US dollar was weakening, and oil typically moves in the opposite direction to the US dollar

It is not a scam. It has claimed more than 500 000 lives in America and more than 2 500 000 lives in the world overall. That includes people I know.__PRESENT
