I think the terms that lenders are willing to write up has a lot to do with prices of everything, especially hobbies like boating. Manufacturers know this as do dealers and private sellers. That with a black hole of performance boats made from 09-15 has prices through the roof. Once banks start reeling terms back in the prices of boats and other hobbies will follow.

I see a lot of people wanting to buy used boats and there just aren't any out there, or the ones that are available are at ridiculous prices as noted in earlier posts.
I'm talking 21' - 25' boats...runabouts, cuddy cabins...just not out there.
I'd decided to put a price of $12,800 on my '92 Baja 208 last year when I made the decision to sell it this year, now I am thinking I'll bump that up a few thousand, just to see what happens.

Now I saw a 23 Kryptonite pop up for sale on facebook the same day it was listed and the next day sale was pending. Of course the price was within the range that many could afford to pay with cash.

Not True. You actually have it reversed. They're done busting their ass for little reward, they're finally getting the money they need to run the business properly and enjoy life.

+1. I would add that the used boats that are likely to be hard to finance like a 15+ year old any performance boat is not really moving very fast.
