Three quick things to consider:

1. The personal watercraft market peaked a long, long time ago with units sales of more than 200,000 in a single year (I think it was 1998). Since then, it has steadily contracted and is down to three entrenched players—Kawasaki, Yamaha and Sea-Doo.
2. The super yacht market is far more limited and even more competitive than the PWC segment, and the builders are even more entrenched.
3. The offshore racing world does not have a ready fit, at least in the non-bracketed class, for a new Cigarette V-bottom. The current Vee Extreme class has exactly one team regularly competing.

There is nothing wrong with ambition and early plans for companies under new ownership often change, but those are simple realities.

Bad analogy..........Cig already built their SUV...........it was the center console line! The trend is going towards SUV/CC's and new Cig owners are going into the RV/Scooter market.

I guy I work for has owned Lambos for 25+ years, his last being a new Huracan. When the SUV hit the market he had the first Urus I'd ever seen, now there are over a dozen in town. I asked why, he said it is just as fast as the 2 seater Lamborghinis and he can seat more people/carry stuff like golf clubs so why bother with the low/2 seater?

I tremble from the anticipation of hearing/reading the first blowhard owner exclaim the virtue of his brand new Cigarette Intern, and how it’s such a wave crusher and faster than any beak boat he’s run up against.

Sounds to me like they intend to squeeze an iconic brands heritage for everything it’s worth.

You know, it's funny you say that, the website is sold out of nearly all clothing.

Too late. They may need to use #2.

Quoted for preservation to belay the pending copyright infringement suit you’ll undoubtedly face from the billionaire lawyer in charge.
