If you want to use the boat as an everyday driver as I did when I had mine all you really need is liability coverage with a strong umbrella..ps.. I have a scaled model of the 41 warpath signed by Bobby if anybody's interested.. Maybe a raffle?

I have a car insured with Hagerty as a historic vehicle and the car has historic plates. That brings restrictions for its use but doable and a lower insurance rate. Maybe the new owner could get a historic policy for the boat with restrictions on use. Hagerty writes old boats, that's how they started.
A member here and friend of mine uses his 41 apache that is mint pretty much weekly.. it's insured, 365 here in FL with no use restrictions.

Hagerty won’t touch something over 28’ and 20+ years old. That’s the cut off on a lot of insurers. They offered me boat coverage after insuring some of my cars and promptly said “no” when they found out the size/age.
Someone above said it, for old boats like ours you self insure the equipment and carry as much liability as u can get.

Is Barry Walker still around? I know he did boat stuff, but was he involved in a lot of the boat engines in the 80's? He is a super cool dude....
"The engines were originally sourced from Keith Eickert under previous ownership, and are said to have been rebuilt by Barry Walker of Air Flow Technologies, during the project. Dynamometer testing at Chief Engines, of Fort Lauderdale, reported produced approximately 1,000 horsepower per engine. The seller states that the boat holds 360 gallons of fuel per engine."
