I've used my Harbor Freight one many times to pull my motors out of my Cig. There were lots of mounting holes on the top and I admittedly moved "out" a hole to get the distance need but never had an issue with fully dressed BBC supercharged motors with the exhaust left on and iron heads.....

I can take a picture tomorrow....

I bought a spanco aluminum unit, it was expensive but it’s so light weight I can move it around easily by myself. One of the best additions I’ve made to my shop.

Have a harbor freight, bought a longer I-Beam and torched the mount holes out to match. works fine. check around for used I-Beams, I gave $60.00 for my beam.

I found a older harbor freight one on craigslist and added a wider beam, the uprights on the harborfreight one should hold way more than a ton. They are super heavy duty compared to others out there.

Just moved mine over as mentioned. You can see where there are 8 bolts holding it and I'm only using 6 on both sides....

I made my own and made it adjustable from 8’6” to 13’ and I used a 6” aluminum I beam for my top beam.

I'm so glad i have a forklift -- so much handier than a gantry... if you look you can probably find a running forklift for $2500 and be able to use for other things also... but it does take up a bit of space.

I bought an outboard boat so I wouldn't have to do that kind of crap anymore.
