I trailered for 20 years. Now I have a waterfront house with a lift. There are pros and cons to both. I do still pull my boat for the winter and store it under a boat port so it does get trailered twice a year or more if it breaks badly.

Boat is on a lift at our house at loto, don't have a trailer for it. eventually would like to upgrade to a cc with outboards and take to the ocean/Great Lakes a few times a year.

JADENTO, just noticed you list Stoney Creek as your location; I'm right down the street from you.

Wildman,

If you're ever thinking about heading to Cumberland, look me up here on OSO. I'll give you the nickel tour. Plenty of room at the inn, so to speak.

Thanks. Brad.

Techman,

Yup. The wife and I had that conversation. I had experience with both towing/backing and driving the boat. She had neither. I asked her which she thought she wanted. She asked which is harder. We discussed the differences, the main one being that, when you want everything to stop in the truck, you just stab the brakes, and this was not an option with the boat. She said "Truck".

She drives the boat on occasion, and has pulled me up on skis many times in our previous boat, but she always relinquishes the wheel whenever we enter a marina or party cover where there is a lot of traffic, or we're going to dock or broadside another boat. She has also warmed u to the idea of towing on the road, too; something she originally said she'd always leave to me.

Like you said... I think I'll keep her around as long as she'll stay.

Thanks. Brad.

Wildman,

AH... Yes. I missed that you'd posted earlier of your dreamlike setup in Florida.

Offer still stands, though, if you ever decide to flush the manifolds of that saltwater....

Thanks. Brad.

I towed and it sucked with that much boat (sonic 358).

Was about 20min tow time and about another 20min wait at one of the only ramps that it fit at.

Marinas worth a **** in this area are on a 1-2 year plus wait list.

For that reason we are going back to a 25' for ease of use and towing.

I spend most time on Monroe. Slips are all sold out. I do Dale Hollow and Cumberland also…just wish I was closer.
