Usually have a grill on the dock and other boaters come by with food and drinks and we have a big party right there.

When i had the Formula 400SS i slept on that and it was awesome. not sleeping on the Cigarette even for one night. and i think a lot of the boats in key west are not setup for that. plus most people i think have at least 4 people so even less likely.

Friend bought a place in Marathon last yr and just took delivery of a Blackfin 30' or so CC. Looks like a day trip down for one day of racing. Hang on the hook. Not sure we will even hit land as i figure there will be no slips available for day docking?? Any ideas anyone? Been several yrs since we made the trek.
Then some Lobster fishing! Or is it called Lobster Netting lol

We once camped on the boat in Pennekamp State park in Key Largo for the 99/00 new years weekend. They have like 9-10 slips available for rent. It was awesome! There were only like 4 boats there during our stay. And its so quiet at night i think i had the best nights sleep on a boat ever! The only thing that sucks is they lock the park up at night so there's no going in or out by car/truck after the gates are locked. Didnt hinder us as we got everywhere by boat during that time

If you are staying on the boat you may want to try this place. My buddy stays there with his 5th every year. Pretty nice you can watch the poker run boats go by.

Fed printing has allowed 0.1%er wealth to zoom even higher relative to working stiffs. If this event is now for them, so be it.

Sounds like the enthusiast fleet needs to set up new events and venues.

As a teenager in the late seventies we used to launch skiffs at Sugarloaf and run out to Content keys. We’d camp for a week or so to snorkel for lobster and fish for mangrove snapper all day. Not having a fresh water shower didn’t bother us back then. Lots of memories. My post about Key West was probably overly harsh and didn’t account for the reasoning for being there for the World’s event, more of old timer rant about then vs now.

I am also out for this year, got way out of control last year. I believe 15-20 of us from the northeast are not returning for 22' :/
Have definitely been thinking about LOTO as a replacement
