I feel for the teams racing.....it has to be head shaking to hammer a bank account to support a full team with support going down b/c its key west and its assumed the world have to be there.

It's like lighting your wallet filled with $100 bills on fire for sh!ts and giggles....

Would not surprise me if that or higher. I just booked Stock Island Marina at $ 8.00 / ft.

Then some Lobster fishing! Or is it called Lobster Netting lol
That sounds like the way to do it. Good luck with the “bugs”, nothing like fresh lobster and thick ribeyes on the grill with plenty of cold ones!

Living in Fl. for 43 years, I was "over' KW about 25 years ago. Overpriced dump that price gouges for special events.

2012 was enough for me. I had a room at the Galleon for 500.00 a night. I am into the racing not the partying so it was an easy decision for me. Bob (Bobthbuilder on OSO) offered up his Nortech as a place for me to crash as we were discussing prices of room and slips. i cannot remember what we paid for the slip for the Skater. Tank I am going to catch up with you somewhere sometime as I owe you several drinks due to inflation from 2012.

That used to be a fuel stop on the poker run years ago. They put fuel tankers on site with a filler hose attached.

Just looked at prices, this week they want $233 a night for a premium RV spot across from the waterfront lots. I couldn't imagine driving a big RV around at $5 a gallon then pulling in to pay $250+ (taxes got to be in there too) a night to park it ($1750 a week)............that's insane.

I'll go every 10 years or so to remind myself why I don't go there much.............touristy overpriced dump. It's like Las Vegas, another touristy overpriced place.

Wife and I went back in 2019 and loved it. Paid 2k to stay from Monday-Monday, Flew into Ft Myers Sunday and took the key west express down, spend about 2k on food and drink so 4-5k all in for the 2 of us I thought was Somewhat reasonable. This year is our 10 year anniversary and it was going to be like 8-9k all in and told the wife we just cant do it. Trying to save for the sales that are going to be happening when this recession hits..

Recession...LOL Sure...media hype garbage.

I hope one does hit so I can get a slip for the summer, waiting lists are a mile long. One marina told me there hasn't been a single cancellation with 2 weeks to go before contract deadlines. It might be the first time I have a boat on blocks for the summer in which case it goes on sale soon, time to find another hobby possibly, seriously considering ending my boating life after 45 years.
