15 years in a row and I love it, but the prices have definitely gone crazy. I do think a big change is on the horizon with the current market. Nobody will admit it until there have vacancies on November 9 and you show up that AM, then it went from $700 to $325. A lot like 09-13…. Indy, I feel like these marinas are the same way. Play hardball with customers who have new there for 10 years, then wonder why it’s empty.

We lived in Fla for 9 yrs and took the boat to the Keys as often as possible.

Stayed on the boat probably 50% of the time.

Key West was our least favorite Key, even on regular weekends.
Thats where the tourists went to buy tee shirts and $11 rum runners and take selfies.

Traffic sucks, prices are outrageous and for what?

When we did the races, we’d stay in Marathon or Islamorada and commute.

And agreed on the biz owners seeing all the glitz and glitter and deciding they weren’t charging enough.

Most don’t know that there’s a bus system that runs the length of the Keys.
Used to be stupid cheap too!

You could always tell the tourist because the thought Key West was the Keys!

For the races, we’d book a water front room, w/a ramp and dock when possible.
Spend the week playing then a day at the races.

For a $1k.

Missed 2020 (obviously) and last year but headed back this year for one last round of wallet and liver abuse before retirement.

We went for the races last year and prices were definitely higher than 2019! But had a blast, stayed at a nice bed and breakfast for 6 nights and it was $1800.
