I haven’t seen any evidence of a true 10’ surge except right on the barrier islands or beach.
I kind of agree, the surge predictions are overblown or an extremely low probability.

Heres the tampa bay surge prediction from a few days ago.

Although We got a 4’ storm surge unpredicted a couple years ago when a tropical storm sat in the perfect spot to shove water up in the bay. It wasn’t predicted because the storm stopped and sat there for a tide cycle. It was a very last minute evac situation.

There’s alway the potential “it’s all good till it’s not” factor, but there’s no way I’m getting on the I 75 cluster F parking lot.

I live (or lived) on a 52 Jefferson in Fishermans Village Marina in Punta Gorda. Boat was sitting in the mud for almost the whole storm until the eye passed, then water came in and wind changed direction. It beat the boat to death against pilings….
My Ol’ Sonic made it, was in storage yard on trailer, even though RVs were blown over around it.

Sometimes I wish there were other than a like button on OSO. The above pics remind me how weak and insignificant we truly are when it comes to Mother Nature.

Sad to see that destruction.

Heard it said that we are all too full of ourselves, egotistical, and narcists when we think that as insignificant as we are, we can have much if any effect on the planet or climate.

And it is just a money grab

Did this boat have any ownership in Boca Raton, FL? If so I have a great story about it.

Sorry to hear or "see" the damage on your other boat.
