I would like to try a Hydromotive 27 or 28, being that they are typically pretty true to their numbers while Merc props are usually overstated on pitch. I would also like to send a 28 to Brett ( or whoever) and have it labbed, thinned and pitched/cupped up to 29. I really think that would be the ideal prop for our setup.

Thanks. Brad.
I have a labbed 28 bravo coming i ordered for my baja i just sold, when i get it we can talk about you trying it out. I dont know what prop is on this velocity i am getting, picking it up the 12th. I think he said it has a 30 pich bravo or hydromotive.

HPManiac,

I'd love to give it a shot. What all was done to it?

Thanks. Brad.

I told him i had a 28 now and i wanted more rpm and speed, but looking at the 28 that was on that baja i think it had been worked also, blades were thin ou the outer edge, much thinner than this stock 27 i have

went down and and bought the velocity 280 at lake Havasu that someone found in an add for me, boat is Extremely clean and has been taken care of with an open check book. Has 280 hrs on boat and 50 hrs on 575 sci engine and 4 hrs on new xr outdrive. Boat runs good, had it to 78 mph in 112 degree heat with more left on the throttle. It's going to take some time learning how to drive her though, chine walks starting at about 70 mph I was able to drive through it but I'm a new driver so it was a little scary for me. I've been emailing steve stepp and he's been giving me some pointers. Current prop is a bravo 30 pitch and it was only turning 4600 at 78. I talked to a guy who has a velocity like mine that does 100 and he said to try a hydromotive p5x 28 pitch, said that prop worked best on his 280 velocity. The engine runs amazing, this boat is going to make massive more power back at home in Washington state in that cool air!!

Update.
been running the boat up here home in Washington state and the boat has been running great.
I had a bravo 1 30 pitch labbed from bbblades and that prop wanted to chine walk the boat pretty bad.
bolted on a stock 28 pitch hydromotive p5x and boat almost has zero chine walk but does porpus some when I get past 70. Today I drove through the porpus and hit 86 gps! At 5200rpm. There was more left as I only pinned the throttle from 75 for about 5 seconds and it was still building speed at 86 bit started to get loose feeling.
The boat has single hydro steering and I have figured out that the cylinder is tired and not holding everything still like it should. Dual hydro will transform the way this boat handles according to experts on velocity boats.
The engine is amazing, don't use a drop of oil.
Only bad thing is it is terrible on fuel. I am getting the upgraded injection from eddy young and that should add even more power and get better milage.
