I wouldn't buy thru the factory for an MTI. I'd buy from a dealer at the same cost.
BUT......
What sense would it make to purchase a boat from a FL dealer, when the OP has a local dealer 5 minutes from him that would support him? I could be wrong, but I don't think TNT moves more MTI's than PBC. And you'd be getting there "PBC Edition"
Thats all I got ---------> Carryon

"lmao! It seems you can afford that 42 cat with 1100 to me .
"
If I could be happy with only one then you MIGHT be correct (at least until I broke it). My deal is that there are only so many holiday and special event weekends. If something is down, I go turn another set of keys and continue on with friends and family that are in town.
Insurance for me on a new 1100 is the same as what I pay on six or seven of my current fleet and a very good friend of mine just got his QC4 (one of them) back from Mercury for a re-fresh along with a 106K bill for what was done. This does not include the pull, install, shipping, hassle, time down and or other finds that you always run into when you are doing motor swaps on an inboard (been there and done it). I can buy a bunch of powerheads or gear cases, and trash the cores for that money. Boating is my first motorized passion, but spending 12 to 14 hundred per hour and missing special days would send me in another direction. There is a reason that used big inboard cats are priced at a fraction of new right now.
It all depends on your level-I'm just not there, but would love to be....

I`ll give up some handling and noise for reliability and being able to boat all season.
If you`re down with I/O issues then there is no noise or handling anyway.
I bought an inboard cat , 20hrs on fresh engines. I got 1 decent weekend with it last year , ONE! and almost every weekend in the bilge....and now I have to buy new engines .. BBC $hit is so stupid I`m soooo over it.
BTW the backwards facing lounger and the entire cocpit on the Mystic is very well thought out .. Beautiful boat !

Thanks! Yes Doug DHD is painting the boat, he did my last Mystic and the paint was amazing. I am in CT so mostly Long Island Sound and Rhode Island.

But depending on how the boat is optioned and dialed-in, cruise and top speeds can vary by 10-15 mph.
The right dealer and partner in who you buy from and who maintains your boat; is key, and worthwhile for both the dealer AND the buyer/owner/(eventual seller).
Sure, you can buy a boat direct from some manufacturers. BUT, if you want to sell your 440X MTI Catamaran, and get into a Cigarette 59' Tirranna; the MTI Factory probably isn't going to be the first one to call you back.

If you need repairs, MTI will work on your boat at your dock or will have you have take it to Randy’s dock. Shootout fun run morning, they fixed an issue on my friends 44’ 500 O/B’s. MTI also does all his regular maintenance.
If I was on the east coast, then I’d for sure say go with TNT, but being that he’s in MTI’s back yard, I’d go factory direct.

see now this post right here is honestly what keeps me from buying another inboard boat. This is what I remember from my last inboard power boat. It’s very irritating when I go to use it and it needs fixed and the length of time it’s down. It’s not that I can’t afford the bill, it’s that I don’t want to lose those hours of fun when the time comes I want to use it. Hours are what is most valuable to me.
Now you just have to choose the size and model. If I were fortunate enough to be buying a cat, I’d buy the biggest one I can comfortably tow and store, now that maintenance is longer an issue.
Happy shopping

id agree, outboard it is. Anywhere from 32 to 39 seems to be the sweet spot in size with outboard.
