Obviously a lot of this is just due to the size difference between the two. Ride quality of a cat is light years better, rough water handling there is zero comparison, I can annihilate wakes and water I only used to dream about, my passengers feel safer, obviously the increase in speed, ease of maintenance in not dealing with side by side engines and cramped bilge, ease of docking, ease of loading, etc.
Basically, everything is better with the exception of the cost of insurance (which is absolute robbery), fuel usage which comes from double the HP than I had before, and some things are definitely more expensive coming from Bravo based black motors. The trailering/ parking is also trickier in some areas due to the boats extra length/width.

One of my friends owned that GTX before it was re done and one owned it after it was re done. Both sold it because it costs an arm and a leg to run and maintain.
If you decide you don’t want to wrench and go boating with an OB cat, my 36 Doug Wright is available and has 2 years left on engine warranty, with the ability to extend that warranty 5 more years…can you imagine that?!?! I’m moving up to a bigger one.
