Had quite the day today and may have found my top speed problem I was able to get the velocity back out with the 23 pitch mirage plus it was a little choppy but the prop was preforming well until I took a good smack and snapped both rear stringers where the motor mounts are bolted up and dropped the motor down onto the floor of the boat 😂 of course as this happened I lost power to the drive and it pulled off the exhaust pipes from where they go through the hull so the boat would take on water every time a wave hit lol. sea tow was able to grab me fairly quickly and pull me back to the ramp turns out both rear stringers have pretty substantial rot and basically just folded so now I’m at a loss on what to do they had seemed pretty solid previously when I hit them with a hammer but they definitely aren’t as they pretty much don’t exist anymore😂. I’ll probably be pulling the motor and assessing the damage I wouldn’t be opposed to putting new stringers in but not sure if it would be worth it or not or if it would even be possible and who knows how the rest of the boat is at this point.

Ok the honest answer is if you can save the drive and motor look for a new/used hull, becasue once you open up the stringers it most likely will requrie the transmon replacment. It sucks but the cost of repair will far exceed you costs of finding a nice 20-22 foot blank hull somewhere that is clean Good Luck.
Not sure where you are located but there is a guy out of massachusetts (MIke) on face book as well as here that strips alot fo boats and sometimes has some nice hulls for cheap or free.

Thanks for everyone’s advice I’ll probably pluck the motor out one of these upcoming weekends and see the extent of the damage. boomer Do you happen to know the Facebook username of Mike who strips hulls I’m located in NY so mass isn’t to terribly far.
