it has all that fluff that the women like plus the gen and third Eng.
it does not run to bad, 85mph on gps on the rev. limiters because i use the excuse that i am to cheap to buy new props but really it is already fast enough for that size boat on an inland lake with all those ignorant wave runners |
Guillermof, you're definately a smarter man than the guy I saw towing the 42 with the Cherokee. From Ambusher's comments I'd have to say the boat was close to twice the rated weight for the truck.
The guy launched the boat and headed out on the river this afternoon. As I was watching I looked at the thermometer in the truck and it said it was 41 degrees outside. I've been wondering how the tranny held up towing the beak out of the valley when they were done? |

I agree with Lucy. It is easy to get it going, but it is the stopping ability that really counts. That is why I stepped up to the F-450. The larger brakes make all the difference in the world!

That Ford 650 looked great.
I also think that for towing boats of that size (15,000 lbs), the GM 6500 series would be a nice choice. Then you can get some real diesel power in the form of a 300 hp Caterpillar. I also agree the comment about electric brakes. I would choose the electric over hydraulic set up. I have those on my new MYCO and really like the way they stop the boat. I tow between 12,000 and 13,000 lbs and have no problem using an F350 PSD. I recently added 79 horsepower with a Diablo chip and hills are no longer an issue. Fuel economy went up about 1 mpg as well. The truck is a dually and stability in cross winds and heavy Semi traffic has never been an issue. |
all that hp stuff is great till you need a real truck dodge ho cummings 305 555 thats all you need moto trends truck of the year and powerboats pick

oh by the way a guy brought his 2003 dodge to the dealer the other day fussing about it had no power his trailer weighted 26000 lbs not bad for a cummings
