His reward for all these out of pocket costs? His Cigarette Franchise was pulled out from under him and he was told that his investment to promote the brand didn't mean crap because the company was no longer interested in racing under the new ownership. That seems a little foolish since the cost to Cigarette was basically zero.
Sooooo.......we can talk about quality of boats. I don't think Brian has spoke disparagingly of Cigarette build quality. He does have some legitimate complaints about dealer relations though.

Yes he definitly does. Brian has no complaint about the quality of the boats. He does have a right to be upset with his experience.

BH,
It does amaze me at the ways boat manufacturer's new ways to screw the loyal customer. and the in general of the industry. However on that note there are so many good people, that try to make things good. When you decided to build your own boat, i would have thought you be popping them out at a large rate, ever thought of a canopied version? by the way cool looking cooler on the other thread.

Pete:
I'm just a small boat builder and it's strictly a hobby for me. I sold (2) of my 28's this year and I took the money and bought a Sea Tow franchise. I thought about spending my own money again and building another 28 but I decided to invest it in the franchise. I have the molds sitting here and plans are to have a center console deck by next year - thank God I have a real business that is not related to boating - haha. One thing I will never do is treat my customers the way I've been treated. You can ask the two customers I have now. I've bent over backwards for them - even throttling for one in Daytona and paying his entry fee. It's all good !
PS
The reason I'm not stupid enough to even rumor a canopied version is because of PHANTOM or EXTREME. Nothing can touch those creations in the 29 ft range!
