Exactly there Too Old, I think all the others should make it a point to show their support reguardless, but glad the merc truck will be available, they cleaned housed last year in Cape Cod, sold every jacket on the truck. LOL

True. If there's parts to be sold, there will be someone selling parts. Merc doesn't want to cede that role to anyone soon. The LLC says their truck is more than welcome. And the racers say that's all that matters. They could care less about a sponsorship deal from which they never received any money. The rest is extremely old news. Would someone please explain the birds and the bees to the guys with the extremely low post count?

So the short answer is: "Nope; it's no big deal. Let's move on to something else." (Sorry, F1F.)

Guys, honestly.

Nothing riles a manufacturer more than when a supplier, on which you are completely dependent, suddenly competes with you in the marketplace. It drives them nuts.

After the LLC had hopped in bed with GM, only fools nursed fantasies about a menage au trois.
Peconic,

This about sums up the whole issue on Mercury's support of the LLC. It makes it real hard to make any money when your main supplier goes and directly competes in the same market place no madder what industry your in.

Exactly right. It takes an extraordinary person to commit themselves to racing. If everyone hopes and works for the best, the sport will eventually get there. The politics will come and go, the the racers will endure, and they will choose their suppliers based on the performance of its products , not on its sponsorship position. Mercury Racing may not get the result they expect from this move.
