You are a somebody when you say something smart!
This site has grown by leeps & bounds, charging is not going to stop that, I liked the Magizine ad. It may keep me comming back, it may draw attention to a new member as well. We like seeing something we are part of in a National magazine!

I liked what Voodoo had to say. I have been reading the posts here for a while, yet not posting. Does that make me a newbie? Charging to post may sound all well and good at first, but will it change anything? Probably not. A lot of the threads that are posted without any thought to them are answered by people that pay to post. So they keep on going, which would not happen if people ignored them.

This board accepts advertising. Those advertisers spend their money because of the sheer number of members that are here. Charging to post will change the amount of traffic to the site by a large amount. There are other places to go, none as large as OSO, but still other places. Most of them do not charge to post. I don't think it would be in OSO's best interest to charge, as it could drive many posters to other boards, which would lower their hit count, which is not what advertisers want to see.

Oh,
And guess what I heard..
I hear that Steve got hungry and used $4 OSO money to buy a Big Mac meal. Now how is that helping the site? He's just going to Shi* it out....

This guy may have had a good question.. but as we all know... It's how you ask it...

Give him a break on not paying yet... He's only got about 10 posts... It took me quite a while to get up the nerve tocough up my credit card number. I'm glad I did, but I am a cheap azz..

I'm hungry. I'm off to spend $4 Sunstream dollers on a Big Mac, fries and a drink. Is that Ok with everyone?

Dude that's BS, you know damn well there are other boating sites on the Net. And it looks like you haven't learned anything from being kicked off OSO the first time. I do think it's a shame you don't want to be a contributing member of this site, but you're not the first one to reject what we have to offer.

What exactly do YOU have to offer ? thats even remotely boating related ??

Havasu Hangin, what exactly is your point? If you are that poor, maybe I could round up some members to toss in their PENNYS and buy you a membership for Christmas. I wouldnt want you to lose your house trailer because you spent your money on an OSO membership.

Besides, it's really not our business if this site is in the black, or in the red. If it's in the black, then it is very much in the minority for an Internet site.

I know I run my business in the black. I have to in order to stay in business. My clients would FREAK if they knew how "we spent their money". I certainly wouldn't even have a boat if I listened or worried about how my customers might think about it.
Remind me not to order switches from you!!

Just kiddin Norty....YOURE MY BOY BLUE!!!

Oh and by the way, no money was spent on the ads.

CATMAN I didn't know you had a boat much less a 100-MPH boat. Good to hear it buddy, now I won't kick your threads around so much in the current affairs section.

Happy holidays & take care
