The Merc rep told me at the Miam,i show the rebuild you are referring to was for the 1050, the 1075 does not come with a free rebuild after 30 hours..

These 1075's will go about 100 to 200 hours after full freshening depending on how hard you push them. The 60 hour is just a check and refresh on the top end. The important thing here is to remember that if you have to ask, you can't afford them! I know I can't! so I don't ask!

Dano, well said! I ordered a Cigarette 42X with that power package. I figured I've spent so much already who gives a rats ass about rebuilds. If we want to play with the big boys we need to belly up to the bar. All high HP motors need attention. (translation big $$$$). If we want longevity we should navigate a blow boat. I think after the first 50 hours in one of those they give you a free floppy hat!

Specs on the 1075:

557 CID
2 twin-screw Lysholm screw-type superchargers
Multi-port injection, 2 injectors/cylinder
Eight ignition coils, one/cylinder
Smartcraft controller
Merc dry-sump #6 drive standard
PCM038 microprocessor controller handles all spark, knock, variable boost control (electronic bypass valve), timing, etc and has capability to automatically decrease engine power if any monitored parameter is out of acceptable levels.
Greek- Have fun!!!

Duuuhhhh,
Suppose I should have read that better. In a 42' that set up should absolutely smoke. Cig had a boat (thought it was a 42) in the FtL show with those bad boys in a side by side configuration. Is that the one or you building one? Either way...very impressive.

Dano
Mine will be a staggered set up. I've never seen the one with the side by side. I went for a ride in the 46 at the Miami show and I was really impressed with the motors. Cig had over 100 hours in the 46 with no problems. They were going to take the motors out and send them back to Merc. Merc is going thru them to determine at what interval the motors should be rebuilt. I'm really looking forward to this set up. I'll keep you posted.

Hey Greek,

You are my hero man! Good luck with your new toy, It sure sounds like it will be one badass rig. Was the '04 'Gun with 900 Sterlings and 6's your 'old' boat?

...I wonder how my old school Top Gun would go with a pair of them 1075's ....I'd need to hit the Powerball for that to ever happen

Troutly, what kind of question is that? Of course not! Can you say 46'....

Biggus, yes that 38' was mine now it belongs to National Marine. Bad ass boat, its just that I got the itch for the new 42X. That 38 had a total of 8 hours on it. Great boat if you know anyone looking. All options plus some...
