These was a diesel based on the ford truck block, it was called a merlin. Dont know that much about it, a friend of mine has 2 in his 50 cary.

They make about 550 hp, dont know the torque.

Give us some more info on the GM, sounds abit far fetched.

It will never work, No one would buy something like that. Fast and trouble free with warrany.

Not yet, The first motors should be in within the month. Like I said it sounds very impressive, almost to good to be true. They are however factory GM motors so it sounds promising. If if works out it will change powerboating. I will keep you posted as things progress.

I agree with that. I would love to put something like that in a 36 skater.

Was thinking of putting the 480hp yanmar in a 32 with multispeed trannies.

www.seatek-spa.com

Sorry to doubt GM's ability in this area but they can't even make a proper gasoline engine and now suddenly, they are gonna start making a 900hp. (let's not even talk about 1400hp.) diesel engine with twin turbos that spins 5000 RPM? All that out of what is a small displacement block?

Don't get me wrong, I would dearly love to see this one but I don't think I'll stand in line for a pair just yet. I'll just observe from distance until I see what happens...
