Smaller boats running diesels -

Lots of good information here, but left out the smaller boats.

Mastry in St. Pete, Fl. has done a 22 Donzi classic with a 300 Yanmar (tested in Hot boat several years ago). I believe he had it going well over 70mph.

Last year they had a 30(?) spectra cat with twin yanmars. I don't remember the speeds, but I doubt it was slow.

I was told that was the last cougar built, it used to be parked in front of b-bracket a few years ago, shear had moved it all over the country. I heard it sank though.

Too bad, I thought that Cougar was nice, just out of my budget. I think the "perfect" boat would be a 43 Nortech Cat centerconsole with twin diesels and Arnesons ... but since I didn't buy a lottery ticket guess it will just have to wait

Here are some more of the 40 mirage with triple yanmars. Does anybody have any experience with the merc 300 diesel? Merc/cummins wants to give me a pair to try out in one of my boats, is it worth the hassle?

Yes, I think it was a Cougar, with 3 engines.

This is a 50' for 70k with 3 diesels on Boat trader.

That cougar pictured was at National Liquidators. It was a Cougar/Boss with triple Ford/Merlins and Arnesons.

Nice rig!

How much torque do the Peninsular diesels produce ? At what rpm? What rpm do you prop it at?

Thanks for the pics!
