very cool.
probably balance would be a bit better w/ 1 big diesel.
I agree twin small blocs are the way to go in 28-30ft.
Just gotta find'em w/ 400-450hp each.

G-97 makes 520 hp a side with it's ProCharged small blocks. 93mph.

only trouble with big singles, is torque reaction (from the prop), I don't think you can beat the neutral feel of a twin, i'm speaking mainly of rough water use of course, which is prodominantly what we get here in the UK

Here is another example of what can be done with diesels: this is a Hustler 50 loaded with equipment and powered by triple Yanmar 480s and Arnesons. 86 mph first time they splashed her. Now that is starting to be serious speed for such a big boat, especially as it is actually faster than a 50 with triple Merc 525s.

Also, I spent ages today trying to find pics of your boat to show my mate with the Squadron, without any success, and chance of some pics of that also?

Thanks!

That interceptor is awsome! 75knts! cool, where do you keep it?

The Hustler looks nice, thought looks very very heavy at the stern, or does the freeboard slope off toward the back?

Re: Diesel powered sport boats?

Keeping her in Croatia. 75 knots is the very best we've seen, with only 2 people and running on fumes. What is great with that boat is that she is insensitive to weight. Put in a full tank of diesel (2600 liters) and 8 people and she'll still do 70.

The freeboard on the Hustler does slope off a bit I believe. It does look stern-heavy but no more than it does with big blower motors and #6s.
