Well, over the last year my eyes have opened a lot on this subject.

In Mannheim Germany where I'm stationed, gas on the economy is about $7 per gallon after the conversion from euro to dollar. We get coupons that cost $1.90/gallon, the coupons are taken at Esso (Exxon in Europe). However, on more than one occasion I've gotten too far from home without my coupons and had to pay $70 for half a tank of gas in my 5.9 Grand Cherokee. SOB!

Can you imagine what people pay on the water? That's why I chose to leave the boat in VA vs. take it to Germany. Our new hobby now is motorcycle touring through Europe. It's fun, but not as fun as boating.

Here in Baghdad (that's where I am now) gas is rationed out. I have no idea what it costs because obviously I'm not getting out of the armored Humvee to ask and I'd most likely be shot. The lines however, stretch on average 5 miles up the highway at the gas stations.... OUCH!

Anyway, that doesn't ease the pain I know. It's just interesting..... Blow and extra gallon through your boat for me!
