You really think a Phantom will take a Cig in big water?? I'm not just talking from winning offshore races. There's many different variables in racing i.e. equipment, driver skill/experience etc.

The only other boat I can think of that could stay with a cig in the big sh!t is an Apache....Hmmmm, cig's cousin.

I've been in some SERIOUS big water in a Cig...I mean SCARY big water where you're putting your life jacket on and preparing mentally to go in the water big. Running hard and never doubted the boat, only the conditions.

REALLY? Ever been to Key West, Point Pleasant or Daytona? I have raced and won at these locations, and let me tell you, they ARE rough water races. While I agree that offshore racing has taken on a different mantra, (Not nearly as much emphasis is placed on longevity in harsh conditions) there are still a FEW true ROUGH water races. And those are the races that seperate the men from the boys.[/QUOTE]

Isn't Key West basically the same course they have been racing for over 30 years? Hasn't cigarette won numerous world championships in their classes since 2000? I bet Craig Barrie and Tres Martin can answer these questions. NK

I believe that they have won 1 championship in 2001 with the help of Tres, and have a few class wins in Super V. Remember, even a blind squirrel will find a nut every once in a while.........

Cigarette deserves some respect without a doubt. They are with a notable exception or two exceptional rough water boats. But they aren't buy any means the ONLY rough water boat. Nor do I believe they are the best roght water boats currently available.

Some builders spend more time refining bottoms. Cigarette spends more time refining Game Boy dashboards, exotic paint schemes and designer interiors.

You want real current day innovation. Look no farther than Will Smith at Phantom.

Cigarettes are what they are. And that's not a bad thing.
I have run with both PowerPlays and OL's out here in rough water and was able to outrun both. I have never run with either a Sutphen or Phantom but they would have to prove it to me before I buy it. Not taking anything away but my Gun has suprised a few people.
