Also, those VDO tachs are known to be off. I was trimming mine to 5000rpm and was disappointed with the speed. My friend that has owned one for years jumped in and pulled 5 more mph at 5600 rpm. I learned a valuable lesson that day. Trim for speed, not rpm. LOL
Ok. So you think I need to trim more? I guess I will take my GPS and run it wide open and keep checking the speed as I trim up. I cant wait to try the wheel bump tonight to help with the chine walk. Thank you. I will try and get some more video tonight.

Yes I would trim up until you lose speed, then bump it back down. For the chine walking it's a quick "bump" to the left at the right time. It's tricky at first but once you get the hang of it it's easy!

ok. I had a good time last night out in the boat. The best to speed I got was 60.7 MPH. I trimed up until the speed droped to 59 and then back down to get my speed back up. I had 4 people in the boat with 2/3 tank of gas. I did the chine walk steering wheel bump thing. Maybe I should practice that with out any beer in me next time, Thank you

Ok. I was out on Friday night with my wife. The best speed we could get was 62.1 mph. I still think this U-191 with a 5.8 duo props should fun a little faster. Is there any thing I can do to get some more hp. I would like the boat to run 68 + on GPS and not 62. It runs 4700 RPM. Any ideas would help. Thank you

Well summer is almost over. I am going to try and get the boat out this weekend. If I can't find a way to get some more speed out of this U-19 I am going to sell it this spring. I bought the boat thinking that it would run 65+mph. I can't seem to get it over 62mph or so. If I sell it, I will be looking for a Donzi clasic 22ft. I like my Unlimited u-19 with the DP and 5.8L but I don't like the cost of the props ($1250.00) or that I can't find a good way to get more power out of the motor becuase of the FI. Any help would be great

It is tough to modify the Ford EFI, but it's a bulletproof combo.

Did you ever figure out the "stumble"? Could be down on power for some reason.

Also, are you running in calm water or some decent chop? That boat will be faster in chop and runs great in rough water for it's size.

Ya, I noticed it runns faster in about a one foot chop. For some reasion the stumble went away. I cleaned the battery. It had some rust on it. Thank you for your help. I am going out on Hardy Dam this Friday to have some fun. It looks like it is going to be 68 and sunny. See ya

Like I stated my friend has the exact same boat. Two years ago he dropped a couple hundred rpms(from 5000 to 4800) and then dropped a couple hundred more and so on. He was now only running like 4400 rpm and speed was down.

He chased his tail for a few weeks and it ended up being the ground cable! New $10 ground cable and 5000 rpm and 65mph again! Might be worth checking.

WOW! I will put a new ground cable on. Are you talking about the ground from the battery to the block? That could be some or all of my problem. The stumble I had/have happens most when I hit the trim or if the boat idles for a long time and I try to take off. It wil miss a little for like 5 seconds and clean out. I looked at the plugs, wires and cap, rotor and they all look like brand new. It almost seemed like the battery was low causing the miss and stumble. Looking back on all of the stuff on how the boat acts. I am almost sure I need a new bigger battery or bave a bad ground wire. Thank you for the help. I am going out tomorrow and I will take some video. I will post it on you tube. I will keep you posted, Thanks
