The Skater I just bought has the antenna under the deck. The deck is very thin though so I don't know if that would make a difference.

I understand GLH all you Cig guys have to all be alike. I will let you play with mine at the Milk Run and you can tell me what you think...

I've seen it around $1250 I think the hole needs to be a bit bigger but it still fits in that spot.

I'm more concerned about having something on my deck that looks like mushrooms growing, here in Vermont all the deadheads, phish fans and the " Nothing wrong with that "crowd would try to munch it.

Actually the mast mount is removable from the bottom which leaves you with a white hockey puck.....but then you are liable to end up with drunken Canucks in ice skates trying to swat at the thing on your dash

I have the GA-29F shown here. I was unable to remove the mount from the standard GA 29.

you can also mount it in the cabin out of site, just have to mess with it a little bit to see where it gets the best position, then not on the dash. You can also take and drill the hole a little bit bigger that the shaft so the mushroom will sit flat and epoxy it in, or caulk it in as well.

Before you do anything, try hooking it up under the dash, as high as you can. Zip-tie it in and take a trip around the block on the trailer to test. I am not exactly sure where the one on my AT/C is mounted, but it is inside somewhere, and I have NEVER had a problem locating/tracking satellites.

I put mine under the dash on my Fountain it works plenty good enough, I did notice a slight decrease in signal only like 10% but it works fine. I also put the black one on my PQ on the surface. I painted it white first with no problems.
