Thanks Rob, I read somewhere today that the mushroom will not work through the fiberglass. It won't be that bad where the old one is.

cool, if the base comes off it should go right into the same spot as the old one. where are you going to mount the unit? I'm looking at one of them myself or a 3006C. I know our dash panels are tight.

Planning to put it where the old one is... GL claims the hole will need to be opened a bit, but it should fit.

I'm planning to go with the 2006C (color)

I found them for $1000.00 after a $150.00 mail in rebate.

Then the data card for my area is $150.00
