I personally like to hear my engines.
It sounds like a jet airplane taking off...

From 1997 to 2000 I was assigned to St Thomas, USVI and Puerto Rico as a Marine Enforcement Officer with the US Customs Service. I have a USCG Masters license and over 200 hours underway in 42' Fountains including numerous interdiction missions. Our Fountains were rigged with staggered 502 MPI/Bravo One's.

Of the dozen or so Fountains inflicted on us, within the first months of delivery many had to be sent back to the factory or repaired in the field for delamination and stress cracks in the engine compartment and the bow area under the sleeping pad.

The first day out in a new boat I returned to the dock to find the electrical harness sitting on top of the exhaust manifold because the plastic tie wraps broke.

Two of my partners almost had a major accident underway because the in house Fountain hydraulic steering system broke. Fountain installed chrome plated brass fittings instead of real stainless steel fittings.

Almost all the Fountains delivered to Customs have been relagated to training or taken out of service.

We still use Cigarettes and Midnight Express with HIN's from the 80's because they are far superior! As is a Hustler.

That's what I have to offer!
