Preference and $ is always the factor. The area we boat, is usually rough. The bigger and heavier the boat, the more boating you do.

Boating on the Jersey Shore is rough. Calm boating for us is 2-4s. Here's a few pics from Point Pleasant. After being in my bros old 30' Scarab (he now has an 36' Apache), the low free board was not fun sometimes.

I know fountain, by a beak. :D But ask any of the guys who raced that day to see which boats actually finished. :eek: :D
