test drove ( welded lower ) weld held ! Ya hoo, but while I was out the other drive puked all over inside the engine bay, out the resevoir, turned out the oil transfer hose from the bell housing to the transom had a crack and allowed water into the drive, pulled drive and bellow, replaced 3/8 hose yesterday. lots of fun installing these drives by you're self.

I've got four drives that got the electrolysis cancer. Does it makes sense to buy new upper and lower cases and rebiuld or just try and sell the parts?
I'm told all the shafts and gears are good--bearings probably good--just "housings" are bad.
Any thoughts?
