10.2" deck + 4.5" crank + 6.8" rod = little shorty piston, not great for oil control, longevity, etc, and makes it harder to lower compression. Also, with a Bravo XR out back, I don't intend to run huge power or torque, so a 532 with 8-10 lbs of boost should make more than enough power and have a great rod ratio. All I'm really trying to do is replace my 800ish naturally aspirated hp with the same performance but significantly better idle and less stress on the valve train. I figure 950hp should do it!

Dog,
What issues are you having with the valve train? How much lift are u running with it anyway? I am considering 650" or 665" and would like some input on the train issue..

Thanks
Dick

The combo I've been running is a solid roller setup with about 730 lift, agressive profiles, and the usual big roller springs. Early on I broke two rollers in separate incidents. Both were replaced by the manufacturer under warranty, one for a bad bearing and the other due to inaccurate machining. The third set lasted for about 180 hours until this weekend, when something went bang inside the engine. I haven't pulled it apart yet to find out what happened, but it seems like the same or similar failure again. Between the valve train issues and the ill-tempered idle manners, I'm ready for a change. So, I'm dropping compression, mellowing out the cam setup, and adding boost!
