Skip the MSD on a stock engine, just one more thing to break.
Check timing with variable advance light to see if your getting advance with increasing rpm. If not, replace the module.

Check thhe spark with a st125 spark checker bad about leaking down the coil tower.Fuel supply and cam need checked next.
