Fuel Injection retrofit
I've got a 555" N/A carb motor with a little over 600 hp, and I am considering converting to EFI this winter. Can a late 90's Mercury EFI be modified to work properly with this engine? I've got a good amount of experience with automotive EFI, but not marine. Any help would be appreciated. Toolz

Re: Fuel Injection retrofit
Yes, if you build the engine around the fuel injection, instead of building the engine and then trying to adapt the FI system to it. Big inch engines are good canidates for factory efi set ups (ie: tuned runner) because of this systems limitations with higher rpms and a better idle quality...cam timing being equal of course.
