Default overheating!! i think?

help me out boys. 02 25 baja outlaw 496ho bravo x. last week i took the boat away for a night. running for about hour 1/2. i saw the temp hoovering around 190. slowed down and temp went up to 200. shut it down for a little while and restarted. she went up to about 175 to 180 . i got on it for a few seconds and temp dropped to 165 and sayed there for 1/2 hour and slowly went up. tucked the drive a little and temp dropped alot. added alittle more throtle and dropped a little more but after running for a little while slowly kept going up. i got to where i was going and when i came off plane temp went up to 195 , docked the boat opened the hatch touched the manifold and it wasnt that hot. i mean it wqas warm but it didnt burn my hand off. i do have the smartcraft system but i didnt get any bells. sirons, beeps. i got nothing. i let the boat sit for a few hours and started it up again and the temp went to 175 and stayed there. i checked the drive for any blockage and there was nothing. i know i sould check the impleller. the boat has 200 hrs now so it should be peplaced but i have been told that an alarm would go off if the temp hits 190. if you guys have an idea of what the hell is going on let me know. thanks guys.

I have a Smartcraft closed system 496HO also, temp is almost always around 150-160 at idle or normal cruising speeds. A hard run and i'll see temps of 170-180 then drop slowly. If you have 200 hours on your boat I'd probably change that impellar, it might be starting to fail. No reason to take a chance before a holiday boating weekend, good luck..

should go off at 200, i'd bet you have some blockage and debris in the oil cooler
